What is an Iron Infusion?

An iron infusion is a minor one-hour procedure where iron-containing medicine is directly injected into your bloodstream. This allows the iron to circulate effectively and reach the organs that require iron to function normally.

Why Might You Need an Iron Infusion?

Iron infusions are typically recommended for individuals suffering from:

  • Iron deficiency anaemia
  • Iron deficiency without anaemia
  • Situations requiring a rapid increase in iron levels

For a more detailed explanation of iron deficiency and its treatment options, including infusions, you can visit the Healthdirect website: [https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/anaemia]
